FAIRFIELD, Iowa – A Fairfield police officer has been charged with burglary for allegedly stealing narcotics from a veterinary clinic. The Iowa Department of Public Safety says 31-year-old Ryan Mills was charged with 2nd degree burglary Monday and was booked into the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jail. The investigation began in November of 2018 after the Veterinary Clinic in Fairfield noticed shortages of a Schedule IV narcotic from its inventory.
